What is Learning Fair?

Learning Fair is one of the most popular events at the annual conference. It is an interactive showcase of classroom activities, children’s work and projects, teacher-made materials, adaptive materials and innovative approaches. Learning Fair provides a unique opportunity for conferees to view, explore and collect ideas through hands-on experiences, demonstrations and interactions with presenters.

When is Learning Fair?
Typically, Learning Fair is held on Friday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Each day offers four to six different presentations.

Is there a fee to attend Learning Fair?
No, attending the Learning Fair is included in the conference registration fee. There is a Learning Fair booklet available for purchase, at a nominal fee, that includes handouts from all of the Learning Fair presentations. Purchase of the Learning Fair booklet is optional.

How is Learning Fair set up?
Each Learning Fair presentation has a "hollow rectangle" comprised of six six-foot by 30-inch tables. Presentations can be done in a variety of ways, including display boards with examples and photographs, hands-on activities, and samples of materials and projects

What are the responsibilities of Learning Fair presenters?

Learning Fair presenters are required to:
Submit a maximum of four single-sided pages, in accordance with the Learning Fair Booklet guidelines, about their presentation.
The handouts for all Learning Fair presentations are combined and printed in one booklet. The booklet is sold, at cost, to conferees during the Learning Fair hours.
Sale of the Learning Fair Booklet is not a fundraiser. The booklet saves individual presenters from duplication costs and provides a service, for a nominal fee, to conferees.
MiAEYC is not responsible for the information contained in the Learning Fair Booklet; presenters are responsible for complying with copyright laws.
Set up their Learning Fair presentation a minimum of a half-hour prior to the opening of Learning Fair. The Learning Fair room is typically available for set-up two hours prior to the opening of Learning Fair.
Staff their presentation the entire two hours the day of their presentation. Each presentation is scheduled for one day, typically Friday or Saturday.
Dismantle their presentation within one hour of the closing of the Learning Fair session.

What are the ‘perks’ for Learning Fair presenters?

One presenter, per Learning Fair presentation, is provided complimentary conference registration.
Handouts are duplicated, by MiAEYC and at no cost to you, and published in the Learning Fair Booklet.
A wonderful opportunity to showcase your ideas and experiences, and to interact with conferees and other presenters.
